Last Friday night the LICC had their annual holiday party. Although most holiday parties are held during the holidays this one was held last week, after the holidays
Lynda Abusio, our club president, feels that the holidays are too hectic for another party or at least another thing on the schedule and since there really isn’t much going on in January, I kind of agree.
Fortunately, even the weather cooperated and many members came out. As with all of our meets, the party was just a fun gathering of people doing nothing more than hanging out as seen by the pictures.

As with so many shows this year, the weather was gloomy and the fun was off the charts. After taking a wrong last minute turn (that my navigation told me not to) and ending up at the wrong show I found my way to where I originally thought I was supposed to be – The Long Island Corvette Owners Association Car Show.
This wasn’t a large show but held at theTeachers Federal Credit Union this was a good show. Besides many friends from the LICC, the show was mostly Corvettes, Camaros, and interesting Classics and it didn’t rain. In fact, the sun even came out by the time that the awards were presented.
It was a nice night so quite a few people were in attendance. After my usual two excellent slices of Richie’s, we held our monthly meeting in the parking lot. On the agenda was the cruise to the winery and the annual bbq.
As always the night was a good time with friends, good food, and cool cars – pics below.
Last Sunday the LICC was supposed to have our annual car show. It’s a very special car show as it is only for the Chevrolet Camaro. However, because of the unusually rainy weather that we have been having here in the northeast, the show had to be postponed. It is now scheduled for our rain date which is next Sunday, July 29th from 9 AM to 4 PM. The planned location is still the same – Eagle Chevrolet in Riverhead NY.
Considering that this is my first show as a member of the LICC, it was disappointing to have the show postponed. I had my car all cleaned, waxed and ready to go. Hopefully, the weather will be better next Sunday and I will have a lot to write about. And if you are anywhere near the Riverhead area, why not come out and see all of the Camaros.
Last night the Long Island Camaro Club held their June meeting. As usual, it was at Richie’s Pizzeria in Deer Park. As shown by the pictures below lots of great Camaros were on hand. We talked about upcoming events including the Camaro Nationals in 3 weeks and the cruise to the winery. We also talked about a car show in Deer Park that many of us will be attending this coming Saturday
